As a mom of 2 daughters attending public schools and a long-term resident of Lincoln Park, I stand beside you in everyday life.
As your neighbor, I understand your worries about public safety and feel the pinch when property taxes rise and rent is unaffordable..
As a community builder, I have listened and heard people’s experiences and will ensure your voice is heard in Springfield.
I never walk away from the hard fights!
At the peak of the Covid pandemic in 2020, I knocked on doors in deep red counties of Pennsylvania to help elect President Biden. Two months later, I campaigned in Georgia that delivered the Senate majority to Democrats and helped advance President Biden’s policy agenda.
I led the Women’s March in Chicago to defend women’s reproductive rights and co-organized Hands Off protests to fight Trump’s authoritarian policies.
When ICE and Border Patrol agents threatened Chicago, I protested in front of the Broadview detention facility for several weeks despite being hit by tear gas and pepper bullets. I co-led the Handmaid’s March as a silent protest at the Broadview facility.
As the Local School Council Chair, I organized one of the first COVID vaccination drives for our community when there was a vaccine shortage.
I have been tutoring residents at The Cook County Jail for the past few years to pass GED to help them redefine their future.

FIX PUBLIC EDUCATION FUNDING.
Fix school funding. Lower the property tax burden.
Illinois relies too heavily on property taxes to fund schools. It creates educational inequity. Litcy Kurisinkal will fight to fully fund education at the state level, reducing pressure on local property taxes and ensuring every child gets a fair shot.
PREVENT CRIME.
Prevent repeated crimes.
Everyday nonviolent crimes, carjackings, bike theft, package theft, garage break-ins, affect our sense of security. Prevention is public safety. Litcy supports evidence-based programs that stop repeat offenses and keep neighborhoods safe.
AFFORDABILITY.
Housing That Works for a Renter-Majority District
District 12 is a renter-majority district. Renters deserve a real voice — they don’t deserve to be priced out of our district!
Homeownership shouldn’t be a distant dream, especially for young people. Litcy will ensure that Illinois retains the younger generation and helps them grow their roots here.
SPEND TAX DOLLARS RESPONSIBLY.
Smarter Spending. Real Results.
Taxpayers deserve accountability. Litcy supports fiscal innovations like Social Impact Bonds that pay for outcomes, not promises. Let us expand our revenue streams to reduce tax burdens and make pragmatic choices to bring fiscal responsibility in Illinois.
As the only woman candidate, I bring gender sensitivity to the struggles of every constituent.
As a naturalized US citizen, I bring my lived experiences to fight against the ongoing trampling of basic democratic rights.
As a global human rights advocate, I unapologetically fight to uphold human dignity.
As a pragmatic idealist, I believe in working across the aisle by putting people at the center of governance.
